Our winning herd started with 2*M GCH Crown Black Beauty who was a large and powerful black doe with great depth of body. She was very wide in the chest floor, very level in her top line especially in the area of the rump, and very level from thurl to thurl and hips to pins.  She was very sharp and angular, spring of rib is wide and flat, and she was very deep. Black Beauty was especially strong on her feet and legs. She was a very dairy doe with a long, lean neck, had an udder attachment that was extremely wide, high and tight, and a large capacity. She was also very smoothly blended and she was hard to beat, as you can tell by her great number of wins as Best of Breed, Best Udder, and Best Doe in Show. She was Grand Champion Nubian under 19 different judges.

Our original herd was from the Murhill line. Black Beauty's Murhill mother was a large powerful doe very much like Black Beauty but, she didn't have a great udder attachment.  So we bred her to the Crown Ambassador buck to produce Black Beauty's incredible body and udder.  She received two Grand Champion legs as a yearling and she was finished when she was two years old. She was a two star milker, LA at age 4: EEEE(90) and LA at age 5: EEEE(92). Sam Whiteside who did her appraisal in 1998 was very impressed with Black Beauty. He took a picture of her and said she should be a 94 in dairy and told us to get her to the Nationals.  Black Beauty's maternal sister, Sofine, finished her GCH at age two and has won many times.  Black Beauty's daughter, Image, was a Junior Grand Champion many times, won a restricted leg in 1998, was the first place yearling at many shows, and won  Grand Champion and Res. Grand Champion the year after that.  We finished her at the HOMDGA Spring Show in June of 2000 where she won Grand Champion Nubian and Best Of Breed.

Black Beauty's daughter, Kiss, won Junior Champion and Futurity classes many times. She was often the first place dry yearling and was finished in 1999 with a Grand Champion leg and a Reserve Grand Champion restricted leg, as a three year old milker.  CH Rams Sofine and Top Brass Jasmine, Black Beauty's niece,  was finished as a three year old. She has been Grand Champion Nubian six times, Best of Breed  two eleven and Best in Show twice, Reserved Grand Champion nine times, and Best udder four times (LA score EVEE 91).

We have two bucks from Black Beauty now.  One of these bucks is a Top Brass son and one is a Tiger Paws son.  Black Beauty's son, Ram's Top Brass Magic, earned a score of 85 as a yearling on Linear Appraisal. He has been giving us beautiful does with Black Beauty's build, large capacity and great area of udder attachment.

Magic's sister, Kiss, finished her championship last year. Two of  Magic's doelings won champion dry legs last show season.  Also, his dry yearling daughter, Selene, always took either Grand Champion or Reserved Grand Champion at all the shows we attended.  Selene has freshened this year with a high, tight udder with great capacity and will be attending the Nationals this year with her other milking yearling sisters.

Black Beauty's and Magic's son, Excaliber, was born on April the 9th of 2000. He is a large framed, wide buck with a strong top line. He has a beautiful roman nose and great Nubian ears. He is very correct on his feet and legs, wide on the chest floor, and has great depth of body and is very deep for so young a buck. His top line is very level especially in the area of the rump where he is level from thurl to thurl and hips to pins. He is built very much like his mother and will be a "real humdinger." Because of his winning lineage, he was chosen as a 2000 NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT BUCK. His littermate, Prima Donna,  won Best Junior Doe In Show twice that summer.  . .

Each year we continue to better our herd through Artificial Insemination.  The struggle continues on….            Continue to watch us.
